Bachelorettes & Business Cards

Here are a few bits of printed matter that came off the presses this April:

Business cards for photographer Lizz Kuehl and Mini May Creations, creator of adorable crocheted hats for kids. The text art is (or will be) featured on the websites for each. Two awesome ladies producing awesome work. Check ‘em out.

And thirdly, here’s a bachelorette party invitation I designed for one soon-to-be-wed Rorey. I really love designing personalized invitations like this. Weddings are always fun, but the two bachelorette invitations I’ve created so far have both been surprises commissioned by top notch bridesmaids, so the bride doesn’t expect them and is especially touched by the gesture. At least I hope. I always think it speaks a lot about a person when they take care to have their stationery — business cards, paper, a beautifully addressed enveloped, or a well-wrapped present — reflect themselves. Or maybe I just like paper too much. *shrug* (Mind the gap, RSVP info was removed for privacy)

Ben’s 28th

While discussing our New Year’s resolutions in December, Ben dubbed 2012 “The Year of Ben”. And so it was. Is. For his birthday, I was planning on making an old school b-day banner, but in the process of measuring boxes for the letters I decided to go a different route. I used Bristol paper, a manilla envelope and patterned paper from this Chronicle Books stationery set. Voila!

Happy Valentine’s Day, internerds! I made some watercolor valentines for Ben and my best gals this year. It was a rather feeble attempt, but I figure I have to allow myself a learning curve, and they were fun to make at any rate.

I wrote different things on all the cards — hey girl, love ya, oh baby — that sort of thing, and added scalloped edges and cut-out hearts where it seemed like a good idea. The above is the card I made for my momoo, which also happens to be my favorite one :)

I’m impatiently awaiting a UPS delivery containing OUR WEDDING PHOTOS! If they arrive today as per the plan, it’ll be the perfect Valentine’s day treat. And if they don’t… the UPS guy might want to wear protective gear tomorrow because I’ll be sitting by the front door, ready to charge. Tee hee. But really.

February really is shaping up to be the month of lurrrrrve. Prepare to feast your eye holes on even more pinks and hearts!

I may have mentioned it a few (or dozen or so) times, but Lizz Kuehl of This is a Love Photography shot our wedding (more on that soon!) and she did a damned good job of it, even if I do say so myself. Which I do. Often. Just for a change of pace, though, I’m going to go ahead and not talk about my wedding. Instead, I’m going to tell you that her wedding/engagement/baby/general merriment photography website, thisisalove.com, just relaunched! And I had the pleasure of designing some really cute, fun illustration and type for the TIAL site and business cards. You can check out all of the details on the site, of course, but here’s the gist of things…
